Sponsor a Mom: Valeria’s Story

Valeria’s only 15 years old. Just finished the 9th grade. Andrii is 17 and doesn’t have a job. Not ready to become parents by any stretch of the imagination. On top of all that, there’s a war going on in Ukraine. They’re scared, of course. Abortion seems the only way out. One morning Valeria was having breakfast while sitting next to her 8-month-old sister. She saw her small fingers, her beautiful eyes… and started thinking about what her baby might look like. Just then something “clicked.” “There’s a real life inside of me,” she thought. She made the decision that she was going to continue...

How Ukraine is Changing. Interview

Ira, this year marks MTU’s 22nd year of ministry. The abortion rate has dropped since 1997.  There have been some major improvements in the fight for the rights of people with disabilities in Ukraine. January 9, 2020 But...

She had had two surgeries and had partially lost her hearing by the time I was pregnant this second time. I was scared. My husband didn’t want this child. My mother insisted on an abortion. But I didn’t have enough courage to do it. I went to MTU for counseling and support. During the counseling session I decided to carry to term. I am very thankful for God’s support that I experienced from the staff. It helped...

MTU’s New Cinderella

Friends, We would like to share a story with you about one of our staff members, Katya.  It’s also pregnancy care story. Two stories for the price of one! Katya joined our team just over a year ago to keep our facilities clean and help us shine. Her first encounter with MTU, though, happened due to an unexpected pregnancy. Katya’s own words: It was about 9 years ago that I found myself facing an unwanted pregnancy. At that time I was 35. I already had 2 children from my first marriage. I was divorced, and I lived with my boyfriend in civil marriage. Well, our relationship was quite unstable....
