Say “Yes” and See Where God Leads You

Just a few weeks ago we had the privilege and blessing of being renewed by the powerful Word of God at our MTU staff retreat.  Steve Znachko, our long time pastor and friend, guided the team to the core principles of our relationship with Christ. Such times of teaching and encouragement, held about 3 times a year, help to ensure we stay focused on Jesus as we carry out our mission to expand the Kingdom of God among women facing crisis pregnancies, as well as children with disabilities and their families, here in Ukraine.

But it would not be possible if Steve had said, “no” to God several years ago.

In the early 2000’s Steve came to Ukraine on a mission trip with volunteers from Indianapolis to do a summer camp for children with disabilities. On this trip the Lord revealed to him the need for pastoral and mentoring care for the team. Since that time Steve’s words of wisdom, admonition, and counsel have strengthened the lives and ministry of the entire MTU staff – leading us into an amazing journey of dependence on God as we minister to those under our care.

Having a Ukrainian background, Steve has learned to enjoy some pretty weird tastes of Ukrainian cuisine, such as kefir, salo (pig fat), and holodets (meat jelly).  He’s learned from us, and we’ve learned from him. It’s a true partnership!

You don’t have to have a Ukrainian background to be involved with MTU. You don’t even need to be named Steve.  You can come – and when you come, you will be pleasantly surprised by our food and hospitality. And you just might be surprised how God calls YOU to be involved as well.
