Russian War with Ukraine – MTU Assisting with Evacuations

This morning a missile wiped out one of Zhytomyr’s schools downtown just a few minutes away from our MTU building. Russian terrorists took over the city of Enegrodar which has a nuclear power station with 6 nuclear reactors (to compare: you know the consequences of an explosion of 1 nuclear reactor in Chernobyl). They broke through the city defense yesterday, headed straight to the station, and started shelling it. The city and the stations are under their control now. Alarming news is coming through about Russian vacuum bombs being moved close to the border.

We are encouraging all women and children we serve to evacuate. MTU is helping with evacuation, our vehicles are being used for this purpose all week. The city is also organizing evacuation by trains and buses, so people are able to do it at the moment.

The spiritual fight is extremely intense now. We are still getting together every morning with the remaining staff (about 40%). Today the meeting was heavy, but we are praying and trusting God. We are also meeting with Don and Steve Znachko today to pray together.

MTU is also preparing to receive several shipments of humanitarian aid from our European partners. Our partners in Holland and Germany are already collecting some supplies. We are working together with Jed Johnson on organizing food, baby food, and diapers.

There are serious warnings about possible loss of mobile and internet connection, so you may not hear from us for a while, but know we are in God’s hands.

Please continue and increase your prayers. We need closed skies over Ukraine. We need help with weapons. We need allies. We need the Lord to stop this.
